Al Capone and Speakeasies
During the time of prohibition gangs and institutions called speakeasies popping up everywhere. A speakeasy is a type of club where people would go to buy alcohol and pick up prostitutes. One of the most infamous mob bosses, as they were known, was Al Capone. He led gangs in the city of Chicago and also was in charge of speakeasies, bookie joints, gambling houses, brothels, distilleries and breweries which at the time were illegal because of the ban on alcohol. With all of these establishments Al Capone was reportedly making 100 million dollars for his income. Other than being known for these institutions he was known for taking out rival gangs with deadly force.
